: The next monthly meeting of the Ravena-Coeymans Historical Society will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, 15 Mountain Road in Ravena. Harry Sturges will address the question: “What Medal of Honor Recipient is buried in Coeymans Hollow Cemetery?”
The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. On Sunday, January 9th Harry Sturges will do a presentation on the question: “What Medal of Honor Recipient is buried in Coeymans Hollow Cemetery?” Harry is a retired Industrial Arts teacher from Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District. Upon his retirement from RCS, he became a Real Estate broker and opened Sturges Realty. He was a Judge for 20 years for the Town of Coeymans and Trustee & Treasurer of the Ravena-Coeymans Historical Society. Harry has been a collector of old pictures and articles of historical events. You are invited to learn about Harry’s research into an area Civil War soldier. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
